About the Artist
Keirsten Read is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in verre églomisé, pen and ink drawings, watercolor illustrations and woodburning. Growing up in a creative household, she was deeply influenced by her parents—her mother, a watercolor painter, and her father, a graphic designer. This blend of artistic perspectives shaped her distinctive style, which draws inspiration from nature, animals, and the strength of women.
Keirsten honed her expertise in verre églomisé during five years of working alongside renowned artist Miriam Ellner in New York City. She then traveled to England to study under master craftsman David A. Smith, further refining her technique. With this foundation, she developed her own approach to verre églomisé, integrating her intricate, illustrative style into the traditional gilded glass art form.
Now, Keirsten creates original works that merge history, craftsmanship, and personal expression, offering a fresh perspective on timeless techniques.
